Crossocheilus latius (Hamilton – Buchanan, 1822)

Body fairly elongated with rounded abdomen, head somewhat small, snout prominent, obtusely rounded. Upper and lower lip not continuous, but with a narrow frenulum connecting the upper lip with lower jaw.

Diagnosis: Dorsal fin rays 4/8, anal 2/5, pectoral 1/13. Body elongate, head somewhat flat and compressed, mouth inferior, a narrow frenulum connecting upper lip with lower j aw. Barbels two pairs, rostral barbel short and often rudimentary
