Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum, 1792)

Genus: Onchorhynchus Suckley

Body elongated and compressed, mouth wide, maxillary long, rayed dorsal fin with 12 – 15 rays, anal fin with 12 – 15 rays, adipose fin present. Lateral line straight with 125 – 145 scales.

Diagnosis: Dorsal fin rays 10-12, anal 8-13, pectoral 13-15. Body elongated, adipose dorsal fin present, body with numerous colourful spots, pink or purplish stripe along the lateral line.
