Genus: Raiamas Jordan
Body slender, elongated and laterally compressed; mouth wide, terminal in position and obliquely turned upwards. Dorsal fin inserted behind pelvic fin origin; barbels usually absent but if present, is a minute pair.

Diagnosis: Dorsal fin rays 3/7-8, Anal 3/10, pectoral 1/12. Body slender, greatly compressed; Maxilla extending beyond posterior margin of the orbit. Body with many oblong spots.
