H.E. Dr. Nalinee Taveesin, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Thailand and Thai Trade Representative, accompanied by H.E. Mrs. Makawadee Sumitmor, Ambassador of Thailand to Bhutan, visited the National Research and Development Centre for Riverine and Lake Fisheries on April 5, 2023. During their visit, they were apprised of the Centre’s mandates, functional units, achievements, and challenges. Her Excellencies were also apprised of the current status of sturgeon (Acipenser baerii) farming in Bhutan, which is currently being carried out at the Trout Breeding Centre in Haa and the Bhutan Sturgeon Farm n Harachhu, Wangdue Phodrang. They also took a brief tour of the Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and sturgeon rearing facilities, as well as the Fish Repository Centre.
