The first ever private trout farm in Paro, has been established at Jukha, Dopshari geog, Paro, under Dzongkhag Livestock Sector project initiative and technical support from the National Research and Development Centre for Riverine & Lake Fishery, Haa. The project was funded with loan grant from CSI and with fund support from GOI Livestock Project under cost sharing scheme. Although the farm has the capacity to produce 10 MT of trout, the farm plans to stock 10,000 fingerlings initially. The farm is expected to run into its full capacity in 2yrs time.
